We are giving in-love (or in-like) couples a unique opportunity to spend the most romantic day of the year – Valentine’s Day – at the most romantic place in Cape Town – the Two Oceans Aquarium. This is a special chance to visit the fish after dark, and an opportunity to impress your date in a very exclusive way - intimate dinners-for-two in front of your favourite Aquarium exhibits.

We've scattered tables for two throughout the Aquarium, in front of your favourite exhibits for you to enjoy the most romantic nights of the year in a truly unique way. Good food, an amazing view of the underwater world at night, and the perfect partner - what more could anyone ask for?
Prices range from R1 400 to R2 400 per couple depending on which dining spot you select (details below).*

The price includes entrance into the Aquarium for the evening, an (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) arrival drink and a delicious dinner for two (see menu below).
A wine list will be available on the evening, and a cash bar will be open. R50 corkage fee for your own drinks.

All food is prepared in a Halaal-certified kitchen. Vegetarian options are available by prior arrangement only,please email functions@aquarium.co.za with your meal preference if you require vegetarian catering, or it will be assumed that the standard menu is acceptable. (see menu below)

What's on the menu?

Couples' dinner tables will be set up throughout the Aquarium, under the beautiful light of the I&J Ocean Exhibit, in the majestic ambience of the Save Our Seas Foundation Shark Exhibit, as well as one exclusive table at the most romantic spot in the Aquarium, the exclusive Kelp Forest Exhibit viewing pit for one couple only. Couples can enjoy a freshly made platter-style dinner, lovingly prepared by Head Chef Lucio De Allende. All of our food offerings are certified Halaal by the Muslim Judicial Council of South Africa.

Canapés:

Served on arrival, with welcome drink.

Fried hake goujons served with caper tartar sauce.
Crumbed mushrooms.
Grilled lamb skewers with sweet curry sauce.

3-Course plated dinner:

Table side

Assorted breads and dips
Basil Mozzarella and roast tomato tart

Starters

Creamy mussels with grilled crostini

Home-made camembert & fig spring rolls, served with beetroot purée & balsamic reduction.

Mains

Seared sustainable line fish with fragrant rice, sweet onion and parsley served with a lemon butter sauce.
Or
Beef fillet medallion with herbed crushed potatoes, seasonal vegetables topped with beef marrow jus.

Vegetarian option (by prior arrangement)
Melanzane stuffed pepper on a potato cake accompanied by grilled seasonal vegetables, topped with a creamy basil sauce.

Trio of Dessert
Chocolate coated strawberries
Crème Brulé with fresh berries.
Warm chocolate brownie served with vanilla ice cream.

A R50 per bottle corkage fee will be charged for any wine bottles brought in, a full cash bar with wine list will be available on the evening.
