Join us for our Birthday Trash Bash!

It's that time again! On 11 November 2023, the Two Oceans Aquarium team will be at Muizenberg Beach for yet another Trash Bash! This one, however, is extra special. Not only is it our final Trash Bash for the year - it's also in celebration of the Two Oceans Aquarium's 28th birthday! So bring along your loved ones for a day of fun and celebration, all while contributing to making our ocean a healthier and safer place.

Apart from being an absolute blast to enjoy with your friends and loved ones, Trash Bash is more importantly a simple way to do your part in making our ocean a better place for all the marine species that inhabit it. These Trash Bash beach cleanups are also good for the environment and an amazing opportunity to give back and create awareness about how plastic pollution affects our ocean.

As if the buckets of fun we'll be having and all the positive work we'll be doing is not enough, all Trash Bash participants will stand a chance to win some awesome prizes! Trust us, there's loads of them and we cannot wait to give them all out!

Trash Bash details:

  • Date: Saturday, 11 November 2023
  • Time: 09h00 to 11h00
  • Location: Muizenberg Beach (find us at Surfer's Corner)
  • What to bring: Weather-appropriate clothing, water (in a reusable bottle), reusable gloves (like the ones you’d use for gardening or doing dishes), and your enthusiasm.

We are currently facing a serious ocean crisis - one that marine animals are paying the price for. Trash is constantly finding its way into the ocean and causing harm to tons of different marine species.

As much as the importance of what we're doing at Trash Bash cannot be understated, and you're pretty much guaranteed to have a ball of a time, it's vital to understand that this is merely a step in the right direction, as opposed to a completed and final work. We still have a long way to go in our fight for a healthy ocean, and we owe it to ourselves and the marine life that rely on their ocean home to participate in this fight daily!
